Overview
Gloves help protect your hands from abrasions and vibrations and give you more consistent grip in all conditions – they should be considered “Essential-Kit”. Take the opportunity to match some super comfortable short finger Road Racing Gloves with your Big Ring Cycling Apparel – They are machine washable and are easy to care for.
We developed uncomplicated design to limit the number of panels used within the gloves construction, this helps reduce the overall bulk of the glove while less internal seams also improve the gloves comfort and durability.

This design evolved directly from our in-store retail experiences over the last decade, we have sold/fitted gloves in every conceivable style, design and brand and what we found consistently simple clean design gave the best results for fit and comfort.

After many thousands of kilometers of testing in all weather conditions predominately on Road Bikes with some Cyclocross and Mountain Biking for accelerated wear testing we came up with a unique pad design called GEP 2.0 (Grip Enhancement Padding V2)

Fitting and Removal is enhanced by a Pull tab on the wrist, the Kit-One Road Racing Gloves also have two close fitting pull tabs also fitted on the two center palm fingers that assist with easier glove removal.

We designed a simple but effective Lycra wrist cuff enclosure, Lycra® on top with synthetic suede leather underneath with the center pull-tab.

No Velcro strap is used for securing wrist opening – we found this design simpler and is considerably more comfortable as you have less restriction with the acute bending of the wrist in the ride position and this style of fitment is also more aerodynamic as well.

The other benefit of not using anelastic enclosure, it eliminates the chance of the abrasions being caused by the hook part of Velcro ® enclosure while washing – making it safe to wash your gloves with your cycle clothing.

GEP 2.0

Grip Enhancement Padding – We use Soft high-rebound padding that is anatomically placed across the palm in two key locations:

One Larger/Thicker Hockey-Stick shaped pad placed at the outer back-edge of the palm combined with a row of much thinner silicon topped pads that sit across the muscular part of the inner thumb. (note: The Hockey-Stick shaped pad has rubberized print pattern also to enhance grip).

This unique pad design gives you a slight diagonal recess across the center of the palm with more padding on the lower outside of the palm. We found this diagonal placement helps keep a more naturally-seated holding grip around the Road Bars, especially when gripping the hoods, improving comfort and control while reducing fatigue on longer rides.

Bar feel is still excellent while the glove still closes effortlessly without feeling bulky, less bulk means improved blood flow and less chance of numbness in the hands developing.

The ease of Grip is excellent, and you will find this will be one of the most appreciated features of this glove delivers to you.

Materials

We use a high-grade thick synthetic suede leather that is highly protective, offers awesome durability and comfortablewith some stretch, most importantly this material is machine washable and will not go crusty like authentic leather. Obligatory padded “Terry-Toweling” panel is used on top of the thumb for wiping away brow sweat.

GEP 2.0 – Soft High Rebound Padding with Rubberized Text– The Hockey Stick shaped pad is specifically designed to wrap around the outside of the brake hoods and give “edge-purchase” to the lower palm so your hand sit’s more easily on the top outer curve of the road bars where they meet the brake hoods. Road Riders generally use this hand position for the majority of riding. A more comfortable naturally held gripping position will reduce fatigue and make your rides more comfortable every time.
3 x Silicon Pads backed by a thinner Foam Pad – These pads are strategically placed along the inner flank of your powerful thumb muscle – This is where most of your real grip force is generated especially while braking hard or in spirited riding. The silicon pads give a predictable amount of grip in all-weather conditions while still allowing for easy adjustments in hand placement. This additional padding placement in combination with the hockey stick pad creates a natural diagonal channel which further aids in a more natural hand placement and a easier grip hold on the bars especially in the brake hood hand position.
Terry Towelling – Tight closed-loop absorbent fibres backed with a light open cell foam makes for one of the most absorbent Terry-Towelling outer thumb coverings on the market, this addition to the glove is often needed for wiping away sweat from your brow.
Premium Quality Synthetic Suede Leather – Is lush and thick giving great protection and durability and will wash easily – ride after ride.
Finger Pull Tabs – Good Gloves are close fitting and as a result a cycling gloves are hard to get-off once fitted, the addition of two close fitting strong pull tabs on the centre two fingers helps you get started on the task, while not creating too much bulk
Wrist Pull Tab – Attached securely to the palm assist in fitting and removal.
Aero Wrist Cuff – Smooths out the hand to arm transition – adds comfort and protection

FAULTY CLOTHING GOODS & WARRANTY

The Big Ring has well established quality manufacturing standards and it is always our intent to deliver best possible high-quality product to market, but unfortunately on rare occasions a fault may occur. If you believe your product is faulty, please contact us at warranty@bigring-cycling.com with detailed photos and descriptions of the fault. The Big Ring reserves the right to repair the garment if possible.

WARRANTY PERIOD CLOTHING

All The Big Ring garments are sold with a 12 month warranty, from the date of purchase. Claims for warranty must be made within this period. Please Note: generally, not following the washing instructions outlined by The Big Ring will reduce the lifespan and increase the wear on your cycling kit.  Wear and Tear, accidental damage, wear caused by clearly not following the care instructions will not be covered. The Big Ring is only responsible for product that we directly sell to you, if you have purchased through distributor or retail outlet other than The Big Ring you take back to your original place of purchase with relevant proof of purchase details.

We want you to get the longest possible service life out of your new riding kit – If you knew how much work we put into getting the perfect cut and the best possible high-performance materials you would be pedantic as well.
  • If you want your special kit to last as long as possible – do the following: WASH YOUR CYCLING KIT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AFTER RIDING – sweat can be corrosive and break down the high elastic content in the material - The sooner the material is purged of the sweat the longer it will last.
  • Washing - You can hand wash - but we recommend cold to medium water temperature 30ºC degrees maximum. Machine wash on delicate cycle with the cycling kit placed in a delicate’s bag or wash the cycle clothing by itself. Turn the clothing inside-out, seams on the outside and zip up the Jersey fully. The use of a delicate liquid detergent is best, something that is specified as gentle – “Wool Mix” is a good gentle detergent to use. Also, don’t put the detergent directly on the clothing. Once Clothing has gone through the delicate wash cycle remove the bicycle clothing from washing machine. DON’T LEAVE WET IN THE MACHINE – It is also best not to select spin cycle it can be aggressive. Machine washing is best because it will do the wash cycle each time in a controlled gentle way when selecting the correct DELICATE CYCLE. Do not use fabric softeners.
  • Drying - Sun/UV is hard on everything – high elastic materials can suffer a bit more than other materials so don’t put them on the line to dry outside - also don’t put them into an electric dryer as the high heat can also weaken the elastic content of the material. Hang in-side or in the shade out of the sun to drip dry. NEVER PUT IN THE TUMBLE DRYER
Please note: Cheap, low-quality powdered detergents can cause discoloration of garments as detergent will often not be sufficiently dissolved prior to contact with fabrics. Damage of this nature will not be covered under warranty.

THE BIG RING RETURNS POLICY

We will happily provide size exchanges or full credit for full priced items returned to us within 30 days from date of purchase. Sale items or full priced item returned outside 30 days you will have the option for a store credit.

  • Refunds and store credits are for the value of items returned - this does not include shipping costs.
  • Goods must be returned “as-new” in a saleable condition and be unworn, unwashed and complete with all original tags and in original packaging.

  • Please make sure all returned items are well packaged and make sure to include a copy of your original proof of purchase and the return form, the size you would like to exchange for or if you would like a full credit.
